Ground level courtyard & upper garden

When we first went to view this garden it was overgrown and dangerous with a rusting staircase and rotten decking. The new garden design had three distinctive zones; a sunken courtyard, a Mediterranean gravel garden, and finally a decked roof terrace.

In the ground level courtyard we laid new porcelain paving and built a custom made set of Sapele timber stairs leading to the upper garden and roof terrace. We installed a new decked roof terrace with a bespoke pergola and slatted screen fencing to create more privacy in this over looked garden.

From the deck we created a Mediterranean gravel garden with porcelain stepping stone paving which leads through the planting to the garden office.

As landscapers in Brighton and Hove we’re used to dealing with the changeable climate on the south coast, and on this job we encountered some awful weather conditions during the build - but that just makes the finished garden feel even more special.
